Story by: Peter David | Art by: Pablo Raimondi with Khoi Pham & Sandu Floria | $14.99 USD, $24 CAN| marvel.com

X-Factor has issues. They are all lining up to talk out their problems with the frustrated shrink. I especially liked the human side of Multiple Man in this volume. He has to go find himself. Literally. His duplicates are getting carried away and therefore he must round them back up. An interesting look at identity in general.

Black Hole
Story & Art by: Charles Burns | $17.95 USD, $22 CAN| pantheonbooks.com

You've got to love any book with a cover like that right?? I love the suspense and the darkness in this book. It's like reading a (good) M. Night Shamalan movie. Even though it's a really thick book it goes by quickly.

Invincible - Family Matters (Vol. 1)
Story by: Robert Kirkman | Art by: Corey Walker | $12.99 USD | imagecomics.com

Life is hard in high school. It's harder still to juggle adolescence PLUS being a superhero. The story is about a boy named Mark. Mark's Dad is from another planet (think: Superman) but Mom is from Earth. Mark's Mom is a crack up. I like this series, I think I'll get volume 2.

Marvel 1602
Story by: Neil Gaiman | Art by: Andy Kubert | $19.99 USD | marvel.com
I'm partial to historical fiction. Mix in a touch of Marvel into it and I'm in heaven. heh. In this book, the Marvel universe is set in, well the 1600s. The art is very Van Gogh and the story is fun to read.

Intercepting Fist: The Films of Bruce Lee & the Golden Age of Kung-fu Cinema
Jack Hunter | Glitter Books | $16.95 USD, £11.95
Not really a comic book, but I did pick it up at the comic book store. That counts right? This paperback chronicles Bruce Lee's films (with photos & discussion) as well as several other kung-fu flicks. I love Bruce Lee so this one was a no-brainer.

Scott Pilgrim - Volume 1
Story by: Brian Lee O'Malley | Art by: Brian Lee O'Malley & Keith Wood | $11.95 USD | onipress.com
While reading this, I was wondering when the action would start. I soon forgot about the action because O'Malley does a great job building the characters' personalities. Also, the action does come. hah. Scott Pilgrim lives in Canada & kind of has 2 girlfriends...one of which has 7 evil ex-boyfriends that he has to defeat. It's graphic novel meets video game...and that equals addictive fun.

Runaways - Digest Volume 1
Story by: Brian K. Vaughan | Art by: Adrian Alphona | $7.99 USD, $12.75 CAN | marvel.com
At first glance this looks like a tween comic. Well, you shouldn't judge a book by its...you know. Runaways brings together a motley crew of kids who discover that their parents are not who they appear to be. Together they have to make sense of the new knowledge as well as figure out how not to get stabbed in the heart (literally) by wand wielding mothers. Nicely illustrated and each character has a good amount of personality.
